The Craft of Motivation
"Unmotivated" is a symptom label, not a diagnosis. This book shows you how to find the real mechanism behind a disengaged student, and what to do about it on Monday morning, drawing on two decades of classroom practice, current research, and the Islamic tradition of seeking knowledge.
The boy folding a paper football is bored of this, not of learning. The girl who finished in four minutes is under-challenged. The quiet one staring at the board has learned that trying and failing hurts more than not trying. Motivation is a state shaped by conditions, not a fixed trait, and conditions are within a teacher's control. Born from a Master's thesis and twenty years of classroom notes, this book turns that idea into practical moves for every stage of the lesson.

Measuring your own motivation
Omer Niazullah has spent more than twenty years at the intersection of classroom practice and educational research, teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies in international schools and leading departments. This book grew out of his graduate research in education and two decades of classroom observation, and a conviction that the word "unmotivated" is asked to do far more work than it can honestly bear.
